1864 No L Snow-PR4, PR-65BN PCGS (PS)

Here is a very rare and unusual Proof Indian. The 1864 No L Proof is very scarce, with an estimated 300 examples struck. This coin is the unique PR-4 die pair plated in the book. It has interesting die pits on the face (mounds on the coin) and a doubled die reverse. The coin is brown with very good mirrors.

When the coin was discovered about 10 years ago, it was thought that it could be a copper pattern, but it was sent in to PCGS for testing and came back bronze. The metrics are labeled on the holder.
